LOVE AND PEACE MEME

Today we celebrate St Valentine’s Day; a holiday named after various early Christian who became models of selfless love surviving in cruel circumstances. Yet nowadays, this holiday is mainly associated with romantic love; it is just a day to spend on chocolates, flowers, trips, lingerie, and romantic dates…I think it’s time we forget about this meaningless stuff to focus on the true meaning of this day; love, peace and global unity.

Today, my little dove friend and I want to collaborate in spreading some love to the world, and it’d be great if you could team up with us too! The rules are simple:
1. If you get tagged or not (and want to play along) , take some minutes to meditate about love and peace, pray for countries that are facing troubles, for those people you love and those you don’t /2. Write a post with links to blogs that you think would like to participate / 3. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

--------------------------------------------------------

Enhorabuena y... Saludo;)

What a wonderful dove and a wonderful idea. Zari I'm not critical - It's just that you said that it represents "selfish love" instead of "selfless love" which is the opposite.

I'm in New Zealand and a new blogger so I do not know how to upload and link very well yet.
However I will redirect people to your site. [I have, and will continue to meditate on world peace - my Mum has lit a candle (she's Catholic)]

love your site

Ellie

Aloha Zari,

Thank you for tagging me! I have never done a meme before (in fact I had to look up what a "meme" was!), so I hope I have done it correctly! I love your peace dove illustration and all that it symbolizes!

Zari,

I had been tagged by Mariuca about doing this meme.

I'm so interested in this Love and Peace meme.

Before doing this, I would like to know more info about the real meaning of Valentine's Day other than celebrate for romantic love to ur beloved one.

I read out the wikipedia explanation but I still can't get it. What's the underlying meaning? Can you explain it shortly?

Flora Chang said...

I've just displayed your meme on my blog! : ) xo

Zari said...

OOOH! thank you everyone for your cooperation and prayers....love and peace to you all!

Jamilla: it is said that in ancient Rome, getting married was prohibited so that men would have no obligations other than fighting in wars but St. Valentine continued marrying couples in secret till he was killed for that -he became a martyr -

so, this story makes me think more about a "selfless love" than a romantic one...Selfless as St. Valentine sacrificed himself to help others and bless their union according to God's laws...he died loving God and us humans :)

...I just wish people could be less selfish and think more about others, there is so much suffering in the world...I don't think I'd die for any cause but at the same time i can't be indifferent...

I hope our prayers can help...

WoOOo that's so touching!

This is how Valentine's Day started. He is a great man of all couples. He is a loving man. He just want to help people to be in love. That's pretty good.

Thank you, Zari for giving me the information.

St Valentine gave alot of happiness to the people all over the world, including myself. It's endless love. I will remember him every Valentine's Day in respect of him. I salute him for his braveness and loving...
